For over half a century, Alpha Omega Alumnae has contributed much to the cultural life of Winnipeg, sponsoring special seminars, musicals, symposia, book launchings and art exhibits at major Winnipeg galleries. We have also promoted many young new artists over the years that have gone on to established careers.
To mark our 55th anniversary we will be presenting an Art Show featuring local emerging artists of Ukrainian descent. As many as ten artists will have an opportunity to bring their artistic works before the community as well as sell their work, thus giving them an opportunity to enhance their careers. Alpha Omega Alumnae understands that celebrating our artists is a positive means to further enhance our community relations, promoting individual and community pride and overall contributing to Winnipeg’s cultural tapestry.
The exhibit will be held at:
Oseredok Gallery, at the Ukrainian Cultural & Education Centre, 184 Alexander Avenue East, Winnipeg MB.
From:
April 21st to May 11, 2013
The opening reception will be:
Sunday, April 21st from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m.
Mr. Leo Ledohowski will officially open the exhibit.
Funds generated from this event will be directed to the Scholarship Fund thereby satisfying another of our organization’s mandates— that of awarding annual scholarship to deserving students of Ukrainian descent entering university.
